The book was written by Slovak writer Anton Lauček. It is created in cooperation with o.z. A smile for others.
In a humorous style, with a dose of respect and feeling, it presents the fictionalized stories of Slovak families with medical disabilities. The reader thus immerses himself in the life and situations of many people and thus opens the way to inclusion.

Through real stories, the book shows the life of children with disabilities in ordinary life, in which, unfortunately, the concept of handicap does not often appear and children face various limitations due to the ignorance of "others". The stories are thought-provoking and there is no shortage of humor in them. Each of us is unique, and each of us's differences contribute to human diversity. However, our common goal is to have a happy life, and these pages show how even children with disabilities can enjoy life. It's wonderful to perceive a different view of the world and thereby expand your own perception. The book is a wonderful helper in understanding what inclusion is and what we need to achieve tolerance of difference.

At first glance, a small, thin book that is easy to overlook.
And yet: On the cover, the lightness of a bird's feather and the weight of a stone bird, which are
shown in equilibrium.
And the stories of children with disabilities are also characterized by these qualities -
wounded birds.
On the one hand, they are presented simply, easily, briefly, concisely. On the other hand, they intervene
the inside of the reader, they set up a mirror for him, they invite him to think.
The stories of "wounded birds" are a colorful mosaic of their experiences. Some evoke
admiration, interest, or a smile on your face, while others bring tears to your eyes or question marks.
If you are looking for a suitable gift, I recommend this book instead of a box of chocolates or a bottle of
alcohol. Although the book is small in size, it has a considerable depth of references and is long-term
beneficial effect on the reader's "inside".
Just be careful! Read it gradually. This is the only way to digest its content well. 😊😊😊

I was very pleased with this book, I was curious about what I would find in it. It exceeded my expectations and I always enjoy opening it. When I read it, I always smile at our "human blindness". I think this book has the potential to "elevate" a person and take them a little further...deeper. Based on this book, I bought another from the same author. I highly recommend it 🙂
